Affording your home - from first to last.
Colorado construction defect laws have had a major impact on insurance rates and home costs. Bandaid solutions haven't worked. A thorough understanding of the market and construction process should guide our solutions. Unintended consequences of legislation resulted in sky high insurance rates, sky high home prices, and limited options. My ideas to reduce the cost of construction and allow for lower cost homeownership are based on the true landscape - not some ideas that sound good, but resolving real impediments.

Solutions should not create a system of haves and have-nots. Everyone is entitled to pursue home ownership within their own means and chosen career/income. I oppose legislation that forces people into a lifetime of rental living, away from good schools and open space.
Prosperity for All

Prosperity for All
We've been celebrating our Declaration of Independence and Constitution this year, but sometimes our friends in Government lose sight of what they say about our society.

The heart and soul of America is our freedom to prosper. We must preserve the opportunity to own a home, to start a business, to keep a job, to choose a profession, and to live where we choose.

We must avoid legislation that reduces these opportunities, or that puts a finger on the scale for one over another. Balance is key - some may think a right to sue someone is good, but when every opportunity is encumbered by a private right of action when another solution will do, we all lose.
